"As a painter, I explore nature, flowers, landscapes, and the “pretty” subjects surrounding me. What makes something beautiful? It could be the combination of harsh marks of charcoal, the anxious rubbing of a brush along the canvas. Or maybe its the softness of a towel swiped across acrylic, splattered with drips from a muddled jar of water. I get to figure that out using layers of paint, creating depth within the composition, and staying curious with my colors and marks. My work is an extension of who I am; layered, brave, colorful, emotional, and longing to be at peace. A beautiful mess…"
